The study was conducted to identify the felt training needs of Extension Guides of University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad. A training need inventory was developed and data collection was done through questionnaire method. Extension education, alternate sources of energy and agro-forestry, agriculture poultry keeping, animal husbandary and sericulture, bee keeping and fish culture arc the major subject matter areas of training as felt by the respondents. Little variations were observed among the specific areas of each of the major subject matter areas. A training programme of two weeks duration, during April-May at UAS, Dharwad campus was perceived as most appropriate one
