Evaluation of Sorghum Genotypes for Resistance to Grain Molds

R.V. Hiremath, M.G. Palaxappa, M. Lakshman

Abstract

Sorghum genotypes (48) were evaluated to identify sources for grain mold resistance. Red seeded genotypes had higher level of resistance (Grade 1.25 to 2.0). Eight white seeded genotypes showed moderate resistance (1.75 to 2.5) among which IS 14332 (1.75) and M-155-12 (2.0) appeared promising. Fusarium spp. were most predominant followed by Phoma sp. and Curvularia sp. on the grain.
