Attributes of Knowledge of Poultry Farming Practices

Abstract


A study was conducted in the year 1988 to know the knowledge level of the factors influencing the gain in knowledge about the poultry practices by the farmers of Dharwad district. The study revealed that the majority of the farmers had medium to high knowledge, while the practices like concentration of malathion to control body louse, use of hanging feeders to save labour and recommended height of litter to suit summer and cool seasons were known to less number of farmers. Among the ten variables included in the study, only four variables, namely age, education, social participation and mass media participation were found to cause significant variation in knowledge level
