Abstract

The effects of inoculation of a vesicular - arbuscular mycorrhizal (V AM) fungus, Glomus fasciculatum in conjunction with different organic amendments on rhizosphere microflora, growth and yield of three genotypes of wheat was studied. Organic amendments with narrow C : N ratio had positive influence on these estimates. Farm Yard Manure amendment showed significantly higher microflora in DWR-39 and DWR-187 inoculated with C. fasciculatum while biogas spent slurry had maximum influence in DWR-163. Among 3 genotypes, DWR-39 was found superior. A matching trend was observed on VAM proliferation and plant characteristics wherein organic amendments caused significant increases in inoculated plants.
