Variables influencing the Job Performance of Assistant Agricultural Officers

Abstract


The study involving 84 Assistant Agricultural Officers (AAOs) working in all the 22 taluks of Mysore and Bangalore districts under the new extension system was conducted to identify the variables influencing the job performance of AAOs. Job performance of AAOs was influenced by variables such as n-Ach, age, education, experience, knowledge about T & V system, job satisfaction, job involvement, job autonomy, task identity, personal importance, organisational climate and organizational commitment. Among these n-Ach and age of AAOs could be considered as crucial in explaining the variance in the level of their job performance. Rural urban background, number of inservice training received, organizational stress and job stress did not influence significantly the level of job performance of AAOs
