Abstract

Thirteen genotypes along with four check varieties viz., JL-24, GPBD-4, Dh-86 and Dh-3-3-30 were evaluated for association analysis at six different locations namely Dharwad, Sankeshwar, Nippani, Bagalkot, Raichur and Kawadimatti during kharif 2003. The correlation study revealed that pod yield per plant had significant positive association with number of pods per plant, shelling per cent and SMK per cent at minimum three locations. Path analysis also indicated that three traits viz., number of pods per plant, shelling per cent and sound mature kernel per cent had the maximum direct effect on pod yield per plant at minimum three locations. This indicates that increase in pod number per plant, shelling per cent and DMA per cent would improve the pod yield of groundnut.
