Abstract

Performance of Maize under conjunctive use of saline water was evaluated for three consecutive years under field cnditions. The yield of maize was found on par with good water in treatments involving combinations of good to saline water, as well as in only saline water treatment. This parity amongst the treatments and non-significant differene was observed during the first two years. However, in the third year, the maize irrigated with saline water recorded significant decline in yield (11.94 %) over good water. The treatment T4 (1 CW: 2 SW) offered the best scope for utilising saline water as there was no significant decline in yield even in the third year. The soil electrical conductivity increased with increased salinisation and was least in canal water.
