Abstract

The pathogenic hyphal tip culture of Alternaria zinniae showed its ability to grow up to 40°C and optimum being 25-30°C with a pH of 5,0. It also responded to a wide range of carbon and nitrogen sources with considerable variation in its utilization. Glucose and fructose as the carbon, ammonium sulphate and ammonium chloride as nitrogen sources were assimilated more efficiently than other sources
