An experiment to find out suitable dose of fertilizer to mixed cropping of 170 CO-2 cotton and local maize was conducted for 3 years from 1981-82 to 1983-84 at Agricultural Research Station, Arabhavi (Karnataka State). Results indicated that maize yields were reduced by 22.2% , when the companian crop of maize was not given fertilizer. Giving full dose or more to the main crop and recommended dose to the intercrop gave higher returns.
