Downy mildew of sorghum caused by Peronosclerospora sorghi has attained destructive status in parts of Karnataka. Metalaxyl-Zm (280 FW) as seed treatment at 2 gai/kg seed plus one spray at 2 gai/litre gave significant control of the disease even under high disease pressure (IS-643 - 93.14% disease) Under low disease pressure (IS-643 - 76 84%) Metalaxyl-Zm (280 FW) as seed dress alone at 1-2 gai gave significant control and was on per with Apron (35 WS) at 1 and 2 gai.
