Abstract

The pathogenic monosporous culture of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides showed its ability to grow upto 40°C and optimum being 20-30<>C with a pH of 6.0. It also responded to a wide tange of carbon, nitrogen and sulphur sources with considerable variation in its utilization. Sucrose, sodium nitrate and magnesium sulphate as carbon, nitrogen and sulphur sources respectively were assimilated more efficiently than other sources.
