Some Characteristics of the Participant Farmers of Krishimela

Abstract


The study conducted on randomly contacted 120 participants of the krishimela organised during the year 1988 at Agricultural College, IMS, Dharwad reveals about the characteristics of the participants. Majority of the respondents are literates and belong to the age group of 31-50 years. Majority of them own land between 10-30 acres. Majority of them have parti­cipated in the krishimela on their own interest to know more about agriculture at their own cost. Forty three per cent of the respondents participated for the first time. Majority of the respondents came to know about the krishimela through the officers of KSDA. None of the respondents have indicated krishimela posters, leaflets, invitation cards as their source of information about the conduct of krishimela.
