Fungicidal Control of Leaf Blight of Arecanut Caused By Phyllosticta Arecae and Their Persistence on the Folliage

Ramesh Bhat, P.C. Hiremath, R.K. Hegde

Abstract

All the fungicides used in the trial significantly reduced the intensity of disease. Man-coze b, carbendazim and Bordeaux mixture performed more or less equal in reducing the disease intensity and zineb performed least in reducing the disease intensity. Mancozeb had more resistance power to the weatherability and persisted for longest period of 28 days followed by Bordeaux mixture. Least persistence of 19 days was observed in respect of copper oxycloride.
