During an intensive survey for grasshopper species in different agro-climatic areas of Dharwad district, 50 spacies of grasshoppers belonging to 42 genera, two families and sub­families were encountered. The distribution of the species was as follows : 43 species in Dharwad, 30 in Prabhunagar and 13 in Belavatgi. Variation in the species density was mainly because of the variation in the agro-climatic factors. The grasshopper species and their hosts other than the already reported ones are provided.
