Abstract
Investigations were carried out during the rabi season of 1982-83 on the crop loss estimation in sorghum due to the shoot bug, Peregrinus maidis (Ashmead). CSH-5 variety was grown for the purpose. Feeding by the shoot bug found to result in a yield loss of 41.61 per cent. 28.11 per cent and 25.46 per cent in the untreated check (no shoot bug control) over the chemical control, mechanical removal of shoot bug and caging method, respectively.
