Evapotranspiration Studies in Maize in Transition Tract of Karnataka

Abstract


The seasonal march of evapotranspiration and rainfall on weekly basis of khar if maize at Dharwadare presented for six years from 1980 to 1985. The ET was low at sowing, ranging from 1.4 mm to 2.6 mm. It rose gradually as the crop developed, reaching a peak value between 3.6 mm and 5.2 mm. A single peak was observed in four years and two or three in the remaining years. The BT decreased to 1,0 mm to 2.9 mm at harvest. The impact of the rain­fall distribution on BT war observed.
