The cost minimization criterion coupled with feasible set and greenfield approaches is adopted for location of agro-service centres under selective farm mechanisation. Further, keeping in mind the public utility nature of agro-service centres, a mathematical model based on the maximal covering location problem with mandatory closeness concept is chosen. Similarly, as the size of problem is large, heuristic solution procedure is used to solve the problem.
