Abstract

In the two year field study in Karnataka, two sprays of decamethrin (0.003%) at 90% head emergence with five days interval could avoid 84* I % grain loss due to contarinia sorghicola Coq. on CSH-5 hybrid. However, two sprays of fenvalerate (0.01 and' 0.02) permethrin and cypermethrin (0.013 and 0.025), decamhthrin (0.001%) along with a standard check endosulfan (0-07%) were found to be on par with each other and significantly superior over untreated check in reduciug the per cent grain damage.
