Abstract

An investigation to study the effect of different sources of nutrients on growth, yield and quality parameters of onion Cv. Bellary red was carried out at Agricultural Research Station, Hagari (University Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad) during rabi 2006-07 and kharif 2007-08. Results revealed that significantly maximum, leaf length and number of leaves noticed with the application of RDF (125 : 50 : 125 NPK kg ha-1) + FYM (30 t ha-1) ((T8) followed by the application of 50% FYM (12.50t ha-1) + 50% VC (2 t ha-1) + Biofertilizers (T4)in both the seasons under investigation. The results also indicated that the same treatments recorded the highest bulb weight, bulb, yield as well as net returns and B:C ratio in both rabi and kharif seasons as compared to other treatments.
