An analytical study on reading habits of Kannada farm magazine readers

Abstract


The study conducted to know the Reading habits of Kannada farm magazine readers of Krishimunnade, Sirisambruddhi and Krishimitra revealed that 57.22 per cent of the respondents belonged to medium reading habits, followed by low (26.11 %) and high (16.67 %) level of reading habits. Out of 14 variables the variables, such as education (0.903**), annual income (0.386**), social participation (0.547**), mass media utilization (0.599**), extension contact (0.605**), cosmopoliteness (0.572**), progressiveness (0.721**), economic motivation (0.484**) and risk orientation (0.578**) had exhibited positive and significant relationship with dependent variable reading habits. The other variables such as age-(0.079), occupation (0.049), family size (0.027), land holding (0.039), and farming experience (0.057) had exhibited non significant relationship with reading habits of the respondents towards farm magazines.
