Perception and usefulness of Yashaswini health scheme in Karnataka

Abstract


The research study undertaken in Belgaum district during 2012-13, with a sample size of 20 farmers to study the awareness and usefulness of Yashaswini Health Scheme (YHS) as perceived by them revealed that 44.16, 30.83 and 25.00 per cent of them had high, low and medium level of awareness about YHS, respectively. The analysis of individuals perception about usefulness of the Scheme revealed that the services are useful as these schemes would reduce the operational cost. Moreover, these services are available in reputed hospitals, increase organizational participation and contacts, prepayment and risks are avoided. Overall perceived usefulness of farmers about YHS is more.
