Abstract

A field experiment was conducted in 2012-13 at Tamil Nadu Newsprints and Papers Limited, Karur (11º03´44.33" N latitude and 77º59´19.95" E longitude) Tamil Nadu, India to assess location specific nutrient requirement in Dalbergia sissoo Roxb. clones besides investigating its compatibility with arable crops. The experiment was conducted in factorial randomized block design with three replications. Among the twenty four treatments, 125 per cent of Soil Test Value with 138:98:65 kg NPK ha-1 + VA M (100 g plant-1) + Azospirillum (50 g plant-1) + Phosphobacteria (50 g plant-1) + FYM (500 g plant-1) recorded the maximum growth parameters in sissoo whereas among the intercrops, the highest yield of 9.76 tonnes ha-1 was recorded in bhendi. The results indicated that soil test value based integrated nutrient application could supplement the growth of sissoo without appreciable reduction in the yield of intercrops during the initial growth stages of sissoo.
