Knowledge Level of Farmers About Cultivation Practices and Post Harvest Technology in Redgram

Abstract


The study was conducted in Gulbarga district of North Karnataka, during the year 2003 - 04.  Higher level of knowledge  of cultivation practices and post harvest technologies were observed with 11.34 and 8.70 per cent of the respondents.  However, majority (53.30 %) of the respondents belonged to middle age, of which 47.33 per cent of them studied up to 7th standard, while 56. 67 per cent had small family size, but maximum number of them used to seek information from mass media and extension personnel, more than half of hte respondents (56.66%) had extension participation, half of hte respondents belonged to medium economic motivation and 62.66 per cent of them belonged to medium risk orientation category.
