Abstract

The investigation was carried out with three newly released genotypes (CoSnk 07103, CoSnk 05104 and Co 92005) and five nutrient supply systems (N1: 100 % organics through 1/3rd each of farm yard manure (FYM), Vermicompost (VC), integrated green manure of sun hemp (IGM) equivalent to 100% N, N2: 100% organics through 1/3rd each of FYM, VC and enriched press mud (EPM) equivalent to RDN, N3: 100% organics through ¼th each of FYM, VC, IGM and EPM equivalent to RDN, N4: 100% inorganics through only chemical fertilizers (250:75:190 kg  N: P2O5:K2O ha-1, respectively) and N5: RPP (Recommended Practices as per package of practice). The results revealed that, the genotype CoSnk 05104 (G2) recorded higher leaf area (LA), leaf area index (LAI), leaf area duration (LAD), crop growth rate (CGR), relative growth rate (RGR), net assimilation rate (NAR), millable cane height, internodal length, diameter of cane, cane volume (0.164 m3) and cane yield (129.9 t ha-1) as compared to other genotypes, except CoSnk 07103 (G1) for RGR and Co 92005 (G3) was on par with G2 for diameter of cane. Whereas SPAD chlorophyll value in G3 was higher than the other genotypes. Among the organic nutrient management practices, RPP recorded significantly higher leaf area, CGR, millable cane height, number of internodes, cane volume (0.141 m3) and cane yield (126.5 t ha-1) than other treatments, except N2 was on par with RPP for CGR and N2 and N4 were on par with RPP for number of internodes. Whereas N2 recorded higher SPAD chlorophyll value than other treatments except RPP. With respect to interaction effect, the genotype CoSnk 05104 (G2) with 100% organics through 1/3rd each of FYM, VC and enriched press mud (EPM) equivalent to RDN (N2) recorded higher CGR than other treatment combinations, except G2 with RPP.
