Abstract

Studies on bioefficacy of four pre- and post-emergent herbicides viz., pendimethalin 30 EC, Isoproturon 75 WP, Clodinafop 15 WP, and Imazethapyr 10 EC for weed management in linseed (cv. NL-115) were conducted at Main Agriculture Research Station, UAS Raichur, Karnataka for two years from 2013-14 to 2014-15 under protective irrigation. All the herbicide treatments were effective in reducing weed dry weight up to 90 DAS over unweeded check duing both the years as well as on pooled basis. Among herbicide treatments, pre-mixed pre-emergence application of pendimethalin 30 EC + imazethapyr 2 EC @ 1.0 kg a.i ha-1 was on par with twice hand weeding but was significantly superior (seed yield 1001 kg ha-1 and economic returns Rs. 31604 ha-1) to sole application of pendimethalin 30 EC @ 1.0 kg a.i ha-1PRE, and clodinafop 15 WP @ 60 g a.i ha-1and imazethapyr 10 EC @ 75 g a.i ha-1 both at 2-3 leaf stage and weedy check. Pre-mixed pre application of pendimethalin 30 EC + imazethapyr 2 EC @ 0.75 kg a.i. ha-1 and early POE application of isoproturon 75WP @ 1.0 kg a.i.ha-1 were on par and next in order.
