Abstract

Response of horsegram (Macrotyloma uniflorum Lam. Verde) genotypes to plant densities and phosphorus levels  was studied under rainfed condition at the Agricultural College Farm, Raichur during kharif,  2004-05 revealed that among genotypes, GPM-6 recorded significantly higher seed yield (988 kg ha-1) than Hebbal huruli-2 and local cultivar.  Among plant densities, higher plant density of 4.44 lakh ha-1 recorded significantly higher seed yield (912 kg ha-1), total nitrogen uptake (42.16 kg ha-1) and phosphorus uptake (7.96 kg ha-1). Among phosphorus levels tried, the two phosphorus levels viz., 30 and 60 kg P2O5 per hectare showed on par results with respect to seed yield (783 and 788 kg ha-1, respectively).  Significantly higher total nitrogen and phosphorus uptake was noticed with the application of 30 and 60 kg P2O5, respectively.
