Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at Water And Land Use Management Institute (WALMI), Dharwad and Agricultural Research Station (ARS), Bagalkot during kharif and rabi season of 2003-04, to study the influence of location, season and staggered sowing on seed yield and its components, revealed that hybrid seed production at Bagalkot location significantly increased all the yield attributing characters leading to increased processed yield by 42% over Dharwad location.  Higher processed seed yield was noticed in rabi season (633.13 kg/ha) compared to kharif (562.99 kg/ha). Among the staggered sowings, sowing of male parent seven days early recorded significantly higher (775.77 kg/ha) processed seed yield over four and ten days staggered sowings (614.19 and 637.07 kg/ha, respectively).
