Abstract

The entomopathogenic fungi Fusarium semitectum and Verticillium lecanii were evaluated against spiraling whitefly. Under laboratory conditions,  F. semitectum  @ 4.2 x 109 spores/ml recorded a per cent mortality of 75.21(nymphs) and 64.40 per cent (adults), while V. lecanii 3.6 x  109 spores/ml recorded  mortality of 89.97 (nymphs) and 79.90 per cent (adults) at days after spray. Under field conditions, F. semitectum 6.2 x 1015 + V. lecanii   4.6 x 1014 + Triazophos (0.03%) and V. lecanii   4.6 x 1014+ Triazophos (0.03%) were significantly superior over other treatments even at 15 days after spraying, followed by V. lecanii   4.6 x 1014 + econeem (0.002%), with mortality of 81.02 (nymphs), 79.45 (adults); 77.62 (nymphs), 75.12 (adults); and 76.38 (nymphs),60.25 per cent (adults) respectively.  However, Triazophos 0.06% alone gave the highest percentage of  ortality against all stages of spiraling whitefly,  while water spray recorded the least  morality.
