Performance Evaluation of Air Carrier Sprayer for Orange Orchard

D.D. Tekale, S.C. Kawade, B.P. Sawant

Abstract

The field-testing of an air carrier sprayer equipped with an axial flow blower-RK was carried out to determine its distribution pattern and to judge proper system pressure and travel speed for effective spraying in the orange orchard. The experiment was conducted in split-plot design. System pressure (P) with three levels was designed as Pl=5, P2=10 and P3=15 bar, while travel speed (T) with three levels was designed as T1=2, T2=3 and T3=4 kmph. Considering all these factors together, it was found that for effective spraying tractor travel speed of 2 kmph and system pressure of 15 bars are required.
