Genetic diversity studies on neutraceuticals, industrial quality traits and yield components of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)

S. ANJAN GOWDA, B. D. BIRADAR

Abstract

The present investigation was carried out to estimate the geneticdiversity for neutraceuticals, industrial quality traits and yieldcomponents among 28 genotypes of tomato. The experiment wascarried out during summer 2015 at botanical garden of the Departmentof Genetics and Plant Breeding, UAS, Dharwad. The 28 genotypeswere grouped into 12 clusters and of them, cluster I was largest andcomprised of 14 genotypes followed by cluster II with four genotypesand remaining were solitary. The inter cluster D² values were maximumbetween cluster VIII and IX. Maximum contribution to the totaldivergence was made by â-carotene followed by total soluble solids.Hence, these genotypes could be further utilized for creation ofvariability for neutraceutical and industrial quality traits
