Abstract

The present study was under taken to know the water quality of Dasarahalli-1 micro watershed of Chikkamangalurudistrict. Ground water samples were collected from 14 tube wells before and after rainy season. The water samples wereanalyzed for water soluble anions, cations and quality parameters of the ground water. The results indicated that pH of thetube well water was within the permissible limits. The EC values were found to be highest in the samples collected beforerainy season compared to after rainy season. Carbonate concentration before and after rainy season varied from 0.22 to 0.72and 0.08 to 0.32 me L-1, respectively. The mean bicarbonates values were high in before rainy season. The boron concentrationof the ground water was the lowest of all the ions and was no toxic concentration. The mean value of SAR in both seasonswas 1.53 and 2.15, respectively. The value of RSC found to be more in before rainy season ranges from -6.6 to -2.92 andafter rainy season it was varied from -9.5 to -4.9. .
