Abstract

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of growing conditions and plant architecture on growth andyield of tomato hybrid. Tomato growth and yield are directly related to the growing conditions and plant architecture, henceappropriate growing conditions and optimum plant architecture can improve tomato production. Among growing conditions, poly house (C2) resulted in maximum plant height (190.52 cm), number of flower clusters per plant (15.02), yield per plant(6.54 kg) and yield per hectare (194.35 t). Among plant architecture, 150 × 60 cm single row with four stems (P5) recordedmaximum number of flower clusters per plant (15.37) and yield per plant (6.02 kg) but 100 × 45 × 30 cm paired row withsingle stem (P1) recorded higher yield per hectare (217.65 t). Poly house with 100 × 45 × 30 cm paired row with single stemwas found to be superior over all the treatments as it resulted in better growth and higher yield.
