Abstract

Panchagavya a mixture of five products of cowi.e.,cow dung, urine, milk, curd and ghee was prepared to check their antimicrobial efficacyand their potential role in plant growth. Antimicrobial assay carriedoutvia  Agar-well diffusion confirmed that Panchagavya has maximumability to suppress the growth ofPseudomonas aeruginosaA TCC15442 followed byEnterococcus faecalis  A TCC 14506. Seed viabilitytest for paddy , maize, ladies finger, black gram and cotton was carriedout by roll towel test at different concentrations of panchagavya. The panchagavya at 2 per cent showed maximum root and shootlength compared to other different concentrations of panchagavya.Key words:  Agar-well diffusion,  Antimicrobial assay, Panchagavya
