Abstract
Albinism is the lack of synthesis of chlorophyll pigments incotyledons or leaves or any green parts of the plant body. Such a rareoccurrence of albino seedlings was recorded for the first time inCinnamomum zeylanicum Blume. Occurrence of such albino seedlingswas found to be 0.89 per cent. In fact, large seed source variation foralbinism was recorded, where populations nearer to a larger metapopulationshowed no albinism; however, fragmented populationsshowed highest albinism.
